And the War Cemetery which contains 4,144 Commonwealth burials of the Second World War, 338 of them unidentified. There are also over 500 war graves of other nationalities, the majority German.

The British Normandy Memorial was unveiled in 2021, the 77th anniversary of the D-Day landings.Images of the Memorial and a view to Gold Beach, one of the five main landing sites on D-Day. Around 25,000 British troops came ashore on this one beach - 400 of whom didn't even get off the beach.

Honfleur. very picturesque. The timber church of Sainte-Catherine, which looks like a ship upside down, was constructed in the 15th century by shipbuilders. The belfry is across the road.

GIVERNY and VERNON. First to Giverny to visit Monet’s garden and house. Monet's art has led to thousands visiting his garden which is pleasant but nothing special!

Unusual sculpture; the item higlighted in front of the hotel is a bug hotel! Bridges and rivers don't always get on. Only a few piers left of this one.

Last day. A bus tour of the city - or a small part of it. We stopped at the Eiffel Tower and the Place de la Concorde. From the itinary I see we saw some other well known buildings! The last pics we squeezed in before departure. The statue of Liberty was given to the people of Paris by the US Paris community three years after France gave the big one to USA.
